Long Overdue Post

Gah! It's been way too long since I posted anything on my blog. My days seem to be passing by quickly, well, admittedly sometimes they don't feel that way in the moment, but then I blink and another week or month is coming to a close.

What's happened since the summer, and why have I been so slack on posting?

We did a trip to visit extended family in Ontario for a week. Both babies flew as lap infants which posed it's minor challenges, but they both proved to be good little adaptable travelers. We are planning a vacation at the end of November to Kauai, but going with my parents this time so there will be lots of extra hands.

The other change since the summer is Kai's increasing mobility and major sleep regression. I was hoping for an easier time with sleep this time around, but it's been rough and I can't just nap when he does because I have a toddler to chase. It began at around 4 months with hourly wake ups, tons of night nursing, shorter naps, and increased clinginess during the day. He, just like his sister seems resistant to any form of sleep training -we have tried. I'm really hopeful that we are nearing the end as he turns the corner into 6 months next weekend.

We've also had our share of viruses. I guess that's par for the course with attending toddler drop in programs. It's rough when we get hit double and both of them fall ill (or worse my husband and I catch it too).  The latest one to hit us was croup. Ugh, it's a scary one with the compromised breathing. Luckily I've been able to manage it at home so far.

I've also been on my own a fair bit this fall with my husband out of town. Thankfully I've had the help of my parents. I really don't know how single parents do it.

That's it. Hopefully I'll be able to post a more exciting update soon.
