The First Year and Beyond

I have heard from several other moms of closely spaced munchkins that the first year is a blur and then it becomes much easier from then forward.

My son turned one earlier this month and I'm starting to see the wisdom in that advice a little bit. I now get to sleep a solid 5 hour stretch in the first part of the night (the wee hours of the morning we are still struggling with). My kids are both full fledged toddlers and running in opposite directions of me most of the day, but they are starting to play together and become quite good friends (most of the time). The biggest change recently is me going back to work part time, which quite honestly feels like a nice break. I'm working 21 hours per week Wednesdays-Fridays. I get some adult conversation, brain stimulation, to pee alone, and drink a hot cup of tea right from top to bottom. The kids are adjusting quite well, however my husband is finding it more of an adjustment. There are evenings when he's crashed on the couch by 8pm. My parents have been helping out when needed too. We'll continue to split our work weeks and child care until my daughter turns 3 in January and can begin preschool.

What's hot at our house theses days?
-Size 2 clothing -it fits either kid sort of in a pinch
-Fisher Price Little People set ups -hours of entertainment
-Dress up box full of hats and costumes
-Parks, playgrounds, and the beach
