A few days ago a friend wished me a happy day for Sunday. I had to think for a minute what she was referring to. Oh, mother's day of course. LOL, I realized that I still think of it as a day for other people. It feels strange to include myself in the league of moms, but I guess I am celebrating mother's day this year.
Miss A. woke up extra early to greet me this morning (5:45). After she fed, DH, who is normally a sleeper inner, got himself up, told me to stay in bed, and took the baby upstairs. I awoke an hour or so later to an extra special meal of french toast served in bed, and a baby that had already gone down for her first nap of the day. Later in the morning DH did all the vacuuming, mopping, and a load of laundry. Ahhh... so sweet.
I'm preparing a big turkey family dinner tonight to celebrate mother's day for my mother and grandmother, as well as a belated birthday for my dad, and a very belated Easter.
It's a very different spin on a holiday that used to be a reminder of what I wasn't. I think of all my IF friends out there, as well as those who have lost their own mothers and don't have reason to feel celebratory today. I hope you manage to survive the day.

Happy mother's Day to you, SD! Glad you were spoiled -- can't think of anyone more deserving. Rhubarb
