First RE appointment update

Well, we had our first appointment with the RE today. He reviewed our histories and asked us lots of questions. In his opinion, the low sperm morphology is not an issue at all, but he was a bit concerned that DH's older brother had unexplained IF and that they were unsuccessful with IVF. He then did a very thorough exam on me. I was introduced up close and personal to the magic wand :o . The transvaginal ultrasound picked up a mass between my right ovary and my uterus, what he thinks might be small a fibroid, and my lining was a bit thicker than it should be for this time of my cycle. However, neither of these things should have caused difficulty conceiving, so he's still quite puzzled by our situation. He does not think my history suggests endometriosis, but he supports having the laparoscopy done as planned on April 7th, and will ask my Gyn to also do an hysteroscopy and D&C while they're in there. He recommended continuing to try on our own until June and if nothing changes we'll proceed to IUI's, then IVF if need be. Compared to many of his patients in his clinic, at 32 we are mere babies and he was quite confident we'd be successful in conceiving eventually. So, we are still unexplained, and we still have to give it more time, but at least we have a plan. I gave me a bit of hope that maybe the next "mass" they find on ultrasound will have a little face and four tiny limbs.
