I've started accepting hand-me-downs from friends and doing a little bit of shopping for baby items. Who doesn't love a bargain!
This morning I stopped in at Zellers to get some toilet paper and found a nursing bra in my size (well my projected size) in the discount bin for $5.
I've also been following all the baby items posted on kijiji, Craig's List etc... and bought this little Snugli for $20. It's a colour that my DH will wear.
With the current size of my chest, it feels as if these photos are perfectly to scale!

My hand-me-downs were all from friends I trusted and unfortunately they came with some clothing moths. It has been a huge pain. So, just make sure that you walk everything straight to the washing machine and put it through the washer and dryer on as hot as possible.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, hand-me-downs are great. Have fun.
Oooh yes, everything has hit the wash and been put into sealed plastic tubs sorted by age grouping. I'll probably run them through again when I take them out of storage.
ReplyDeleteI followed your journey on IVF(dot)ca and have a similar late 30's journey of infertility.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say congrats, again, and offer some advice.
Skip the snuggli and get a decent carrier that will keep babies spine and hips in the right alignment. I would suggest a wrap, or a soft structured carrier. It is international babywearing week, if you look that up, you should be able to find a local vendor. Best purchase I ever made was my wrap, and Ergo :)
Just saying.............
