Well, after all of that pondering about scaling back at work etc, I met with my supervisor today and we came up with a plan to use my sick time that seemed to be reasonable as long as my OB agreed.
Then, quite serendipitously, I got a phone call from the accounts department to tell me she had made an error in calculating my vacation entitlement for the year and had shortchanged me 4 days worth of time that would need to be used up before the end of this year.
How is that for lucky! I'll spread that out over the next month, and still begin my maternity leave time as planned. Problem solved.
