We have made a lot of headway on the nursery recently. I think drove DH crazy when I changed my mind about the position of the furniture about 10 times. It's a small room, so can be a bit of a puzzle to get it all to fit and be functional. I am finally happy with how it is set up... for now at least.
We went with bright colours, rather than the traditional pastels.
The window faces north looking out over a heavily treed ravine, so the room needs warmer colours and lots of lighting.
Hopefully the theme will last a few years beyond the baby stage.
We chose the crib to match the existing furniture we had. Believe it or
not the 5 drawer dresser is already full with hand-me down clothes!
This is an old desk I've had since highschool -it dubs in as a change table for now, and can be a desk again down the road. The rocking chair was a freebie roadside find. I re-covered it and added more foam to plush it up a bit. DH cut an old wood stool on an angle to make a nice footrest.
This little cupboard opens to a space under our stairs (yes, just like in Harry Potter). My dad painted the little landscape scene on the doors for the little animal stick ups.
The 4 doors can open in a variety of ways to turn this space into a puppet theatre, pretend store, or quiet cozy reading space.
I think little Silver will be quite happy here.
