1/2 Birthday

Anika is half a year old today! It's been an amazing first 6 months, and I'm really looking forward to all of the things the next 6 months will bring. She's really getting fun now, and has such a nice temperament. She sits on her own and rolls both directions. She's got a babble on and I caught her doing da da da the other day. She is doing a grand job of feeding herself and absolutely loves food in whatever form it comes in. She's even sleeping far better at night now too.

This week also brought the arrival of some summer weather finally here on the "Wet" coast. We went to the children's spray park this afternoon and I think every family in town had the same idea. It was packed to the brim. It's nice to spend time out on our deck too, and great to not have to wear so many layers of clothes.

I'm also finally starting to feel like I'm getting back in shape. I've signed up for stroller fitness class twice a week instead of once for the month of July. My husband has been working away a lot and this leaves me home without a vehicle, so I've also been walking everywhere. I'm determined to drop this fertility med weight before the year is out.

This 6 month milestone also means my maternity leave is half over already -Gah! I'm really enjoying being off, and am kind of dreading having to leave her all day.

Anyway, I'll leave on a happy note. Happy 1/2 birthday my little sweet.
