Ovulation Sticks or Carrot Sticks

So my clinic has asked me to monitor for an LH surge using ovulation sticks. I have done this before, but always tested in the late afternoon when I got home from work. This cycle, I must test around mid-day so if there is a surge I can call the clinic during their regular hours to arrange for the IUI the next day. Yesterday morning I packed my brown bag lunch for the day and another brown bag to hide away my ov-stick and pee cup before rushing off to work.
Lunchtime rolled around and I grabbed my brown bag and headed for the staff room to chow down. As I was opening my lunch bag I suddenly realized that it was not my carrot sticks in there! Just a little packet and collection cup staring back at me. Oh no! I went back to my desk and searched around but alas, I must have left my lunch at home on the counter. Oh well, at least I didn’t try to reheat my ovulation stick in the microwave. Off I went to the washroom with my “lunch bag” and did the POAS gymnastics that has become almost routine -dipped the stick and waited a couple of minutes for the full result while hoping nobody is waiting for the stall -whew, negative test. Now I had limited time left on my lunch break to actually eat. Thank you Tim Hortons! I guess if I had to forget one of the two brown bags, lunch was the easier option to replace!
