Who knew I would spend so much time in the stirrups this past year? I've lost track between all of my ObGyn and RE visits, but I'm sure I'm practically a jockey now. At least I've mastered the art of mounting and dismounting with no pants.
Yesterday between sperm and egg appointments for the IUI, Hubs and I went for a walk on one of the trails near the clinic. We saw two women riding horses there, and Hubs made a comment about me getting in the stirrups soon too. Except my horse has a green faux leather coat and a paper liner strip down the middle. Handsome in it's own right but it ain't no pretty palomino.
My TTC horse seems to really like the scenic route on this journey. I'm not quite sure at this point who is taking who for a ride. I guess it's still better than walking.
Anyway, when we got back to the clinic the nurse showed me to the gyn table, and said "you've done this before, you know the drill". I blurted out "Yep, saddle up". She nearly fell over laughing. You really have to inject a little fun into this sometimes.

LOL I agree! Laughing about it is the better alternative!

Ha ha yes! I was there the other day and as I was leaving and for the 3rd day in a row the staff at the front said "and here's your orgalutran" and I said "what would a day in Victoria be without it?" she laughed and told me that another lady had said "nothing like a pelvic ultrasound to start your day" which also made the staff laugh and she couldn't get it out of her head all day. I suspect it may have been you silverdollar! But yeah I agree you have to have a sense of humour about it.

It could well have been me Yvonne. I was there a few times last week. I think the clinic staff are always laughing at me and my little comments/observations. I'd rather joke around with them than just sit there silently looking sad and serious. One of them said to me once that she was glad she would be on shift the next time I was scheduled to come in. Maybe they are secretly sabotaging my treatments so they can keep me coming back. LOL

I must say that I truly love your posts. They are refreshing observations about this whole TTC process via ART. Thank you so much sharing your wit and keen eye for observation with us.
A fan. :)

:) :) :)
I went for a once over at my family doctor and after checking heart, blood pressure and all that she said "I usually do an internal check now but I think you've had enough traffic that way lately"
I hope she was talking about the ivf LOL ;)

My re said the same thing to me once that I "knew the drill" Nd he even commented on how fast I could get undressed lol. But. asside from that, yes we do have to add some humour to his or we'll go crazy

At one of my IUI appoinitments, the nurse was called out of the room just before the new resident was going to do my insemination. What did she say as she left the room? "Have fun!!!" I think it was just one of those things she say's instead of good bye. I looked at the resident, and he was totally red in the face, he just stared at the door frozen!!! My sister started howeling and said- "Oh, we will" and winked at the resident! Man I wish that IUI had worked, what a great story that would be...Nothing better than laughing at the crazy positions we find ourselves in! :)
