We just got home and other than feeling a little tender and groggy I'm doing well. It was by far the easiest procedure I've done to date -apparently my DH said I gave Dr.H a little dig about that in my sedated stupor. He had to push on my tummy to access one ovary and said he didn't want to hurt me but he needed to move it down. I replied that hurting me wouldn't be anything he hasn't done before. There was an akward pause. Of course I don't remember any of that.
They got all 3 eggs! He used a special technique where he flushed the follicles with a solution to make sure he wasn't leaving any behind or risking damaging the precious few. The vials got carefully passed to the embryologist in the lab. She told us she's got her work cut out for her.
As I recovered and had my IV Intralipids, DH made his contribution. They just need to find 3 nice sperm out of the millions there for the arranged marriage (ICSI) which took place a couple of hours later. We'll find out tomorrow how they fertilized.
