Round 3 Begins

I am warping back into the land of technology connection, after 10 days away. The break was nice, but boy there is a lot to catch up on here!

Hmmm... let's see, where did I last leave off? It was just after IUI #2, with 3 lovely mature follicles heading on vacation. The trio enjoyed their time away. I was feeling really hopeful that one of the bunch might decide to stick around for 9 months. I thought maybe leaving town and going somewhere remote might just keep not so dear old aunt flo from finding me. My breasts were tender and I had no spotting, or any of the other signs of AF's impending arrival. Unfortunately she tracked me down on the last day of my trip. I woke up this morning surprised to discover she was settling in and this cycle was another bust. Sigh...

Back to the drawing board, and with IUI cycles there is no time to get too upset. So fast thinking was in order. After driving all day yesterday across BC, we ended up staying just outside of Vancouver last night. I started thinking about all the travel back and forth to Victoria that would be again ahead of us in the coming weeks, and suddenly had a brain wave. I need to have an ultrasound before day 3 and I wonder if we could just take the ferry to Victoria today, instead of to Nanaimo, and cut down some of the travel? I called the clinic this morning and they kindly squeezed me in for an ultrasound this afternoon. I was also able to get my beta run at the lab across from the clinic. No surprise there -BFN.

All looks good though to proceed with my meds starting on Wednesday. I'll be on the same injectable protocol again for the 3rd and final IUI attempt. Come on little guys this is it, before we buy an expensive ticket to climb aboard the IVF train. Work with us here!

So sorry that the IUI didn't work this time. Third time was a charm for a family member of mine... triplet girls, all very healthy and born at 37 weeks. Let's hope you get lucky this time too! Maybe with a bit less chaos than 3 though!

    Silver,
All I can say is, Big Hugs. I know this journey seems so unfair at times, but I truly believe in the end that our dreams, hopes and aspirations will come true. Hang in there, it's gonna happen. :)
