AF Writes Yet Again

AF is once again coming up for her regular visit in a few more days. This one will mark the official start of my IVF cycle. I'm slated to start taking birth control pills on my next day 3, and the prescription is taking it's sweet time to arrive in the mail . On all other fronts I'm ready to get on with it.


My darling great niece,

I can feel the crisp autumn air fast approaching and can’t wait to get there for a visit again before the rainy season sets in and my bones start to ache.

I did receive your last few letters from the mediator and the notice of eviction. I’m sorry that you feel this way. I still hope we can discuss this further and come to a reasonable agreement.

I have continued to use the stork postal service to deliver my letters, they are just so much more reliable than Canada Post. Last week when I was sending my letter the stork told me he would deliver it with your prescription for the birth control pills. I told him to discard the birth control pill prescription because this would only get in the way of conceiving a baby. Aren’t you glad you have your dear old auntie looking out for you?

Dearest Florence,

Since you have not respected the final notice of eviction, or our requests for mediation, we will be stepping this up to a full litigation. We have hired a pricey lawyer and his expert team to resolve this dispute. You will be receiving a subpoena to appear in court soon.

By the way, if my birth control prescription does not arrive by mail, I will have it faxed to the pharmacy. This is the first step involved in the IVF process that will hopefully bring us the dream of having a baby of our own. Your meddling is just making things more complicated right now.

This is not how I wanted to resolve this, but you have left me with no other choice. Please respect where we are coming from on this one.
