My poor clinic nurses, they've had to put up with my barrage of e-mails lately with little questions that come up about my IVF cycle. They are always very good about answering back, and keep saying to contact them anytime, so I've taken them up on the offer. My husband teases me that they have put me in the extra high maintenance category by now. Ahem, maybe that's because he never opens his mouth at any of the appointments and I have to ask all of the questions.
The other night we were looking over some of the patient information for his eye surgery that he's got booked and noticed that they prescribe a sedative. I made a comment about it and suggested that maybe we should just double check with the fertility clinic that it won't be a problem. I left it at that. I came home later to a strange string of e-mails on my computer. I have changed the {names} to protect the innocent.

Hello and another quick question,
My husband is going for corrective eye surgery in mid October. They use
Ativan as a sedative during the procedure. Will this be any conflict
with his sperm count/quality?
Thanks,

Hi {Silverdollar},
Please make sure he gives his sperm a good and stern talking too - and
tell them that they better wake up after that Ativan.
LOL - No this will not cause a problem at all - sperm are created on a 72
day cycle.
Cheers!

Now I'm giggling. I just had to respond myself:

Thanks {Favourite Nurse},
LOL -the funniest part is I actually didn't write this e-mail, {Husband} did (from my computer while I was at work, pretending he was me). Men!?!?!
Good to know the Ativan won't make the sperm sleepy, I will be sure to pass along your response to his sperm ; )

LOL...I can guess who the nurse was! I send all kinds of emails sometimes too and feel like I'm hassling them, but yeah they're very nice with their replies and hey that's what we pay for!!
