We're back to maybe doing IVF again. Sigh... After 4 days of stims, I had an ultrasound this morning with the fill-in RE and she could only find 4 follicles between 7 and 9 mm. My estradiol was also lower than expected. The nurse thought they might bump up my dose of Gonal-F to see if more follicles could be recruited, but the fill-in Dr. decided to keep me on the 300 dose because she said I wouldn't absorb any more than that anyway with my high FSH. I can't help but wonder if my regular RE have made a different decision. I e-mailed him just in the off chance that he checks his messages while he is away. I'm not back for monitoring again until Thursday morning which seems so far away. I'm so worried about this cycle getting canceled, but I'm supposed to "relax" and hope a few more follicles come out of the woodwork. With at least 5 they'll consider continuing, 4 or less we'll have to convert to a very expensive IUI. I know, you are all going to comment that it's still early, and don't give up yet. Still, it's starting to sink in how much the odds are stacked against me. Devastated [

I agree that it is early and anything can happen, but that news is still really upsetting. I will be thinking of you and hoping for a few more follies to catch up! (((hugs)))

It's too early Silver..FX that on you next U/S they can find at least 6..FX!!! I was thinking of you all day.. :Emoticons09780:

I hear ya! I was on the same boat too, but don't give up hope! My follies came from behind and they eventually caught up! My actual RE was on call the day of my 2nd u/s and she wanted to cancel as I only had 2 lead follies. I wanted to continue as I know I am late in everything(especially with my body). Lets just say I had 5 follies retrieved and 4 were mature! That is 3 more retrieved than they thought there would be, and the fact I made it to ER surprised them. When I said I would continue. she added Repronex to the mix!
I am surprised that they kept you at the same dose, but hey, I am not a Dr. But like you, I would second guess that decision. Is there any way to call the Dr on duty tomorrow and ask them to review your chart and ask to up the meds?? No hurt in trying!

There might be some smaller ones that'll catch up. It often happens. Fingers crossed for Thursday.
BTW, five is their general rule, but Dr H told me that 'it's not written in stone'. We went ahead with only four.

That blows! I'm sorry you didn't get better news.
I know that things can still catch up and I'm sending some good vibes your way. I'm sure your RE will have a good game plan for you regardless of whether or not this cycle gets converted.

Upsetting news and unexpected -- what the heck??!! am hoping for you and DH that you get a flurry of activity in those ovaries of yours, and that you hear back from Dr. H for some reassurance.
