I don't know if you remember, but when the clutch on my car went in the summer we decided to not do anything about it and to juggle with sharing my husband's vehicle until we had a better idea where the fertility treatments were headed. When we knew we were moving on to IVF, we decided that it wasn't worth pouring more money into my old car. My grandmother also offered to loan us her car for the interim when we both needed vehicles at the same time. So, we listed the car for sale as is for $1500. Yesterday we got an offer for $1200 and I'm really hoping the sale goes through.
All I could think about last night was -hey, hey that will buy me 3 more days of meds! I'm trading in my pale blue Toyota Corolla not for new wheels, but for 3 pale blue Gonal-F pens. What a deal.

I sure do hope your trade is worth it in the end! We made a trade for our IVF too. Our original plan for the summer was to go to Spain to visit my family...instead we spent the money on a very expensive trip to Victoria!

I would make that trade any day and twice on Sunday!!

When you see the photos side by side like that it sure does show the absurdity of it all. A car .... or three days of meds towards the chance of a pregnancy.
I have to say that shooting myself up with $500+/day made me feel like going shopping.

Totally sweet ride -- from one vintage Corolla owner to another :) I hope it is the deal of a lifetime!

Poo, that offer fell through. I hope we get another one soon. It is actually a really sweet ride, I'll be sad to see it go. My gramma-mobile is fine for now though.
Yes, it is a totally absurd thing when pictured this way. :)

Ha ha ha ... I just heard an ad on the radio that said, "You shouldn't have to sell your first born to get a car." IMO, the opposite is also true ... You shouldn't have to sell your car to get your first born! :)

By god's grace hopefully this will be the sweetest deal you ever made... :)
Baby dust...

I know...we had to sell some toys too to help pay for IVF. I think once you actually start to see assets being sold off is when you kinda feel jipped. But good luck with the sale!

OMG! So true. You shouldn't have to sell your car to get your first born, and this car only gets me 3 days of meds. Far far from my first born!
