The Separation

Well, it’s been 9 months of me and my RE intensively seeing each other, and it’s now time to take a break from our relationship for a while. Maybe it was it the uber-attractive drawstring yoga pants I was wearing on our last several dates? Or my teary outbursts in his office?

Last week's break up phone call was easier than I imagined. We have parted ways for a while, but it is quite amicable. During this trial separation he’ll be spending time with other women who need him. I’ll be working at bettering my ovaries for their next performance, and mustering up enough courage to try dating again. It is strange not to have regular contact, or multiple trips a week to schedule. Soon enough, I will be back and ready to climb aboard the treatment treadmill again.

I ask myself why I keep holding onto this relationship that causes me so much pain and turmoil? Oh yeah, I want a family to call my own so the RE and I can eventually break it off for good.

  1. LOL I love your analogies. My relationship is now down to fly in, insert embryos, good luck, and fly out. Maybe I should say hi for you next time!

Well SD, I hate to tell you but I might be "the other woman" your RE is seeing. And by the way, he told me I have a beautiful uterus. So there.

Hmmm, my uterus has appendages hanging off of it. I must be a really bad date!

Never has a man with eyes for many women been more of an attractive prospect! Enjoy your drives to the great outdoors instead of to the city

It's like Battered Wife Syndrome... despite the punches, bruises and tears you just keep going back, hoping that things will be different next time

I'm glad you are taking a break. It really can do the world of good.

There's no choice in the matter, so I'm making the best of it.
